This rollerball pen is exhibition grade . The “ingredients” for this roller ball pen are Genuine Rattlesnake skin, resin, rhodium, black titanium (accents) and ceramic. It is definitely a handmade showpiece that is a one of a kind handcrafted rollerball pen. 

This collector’s rollerball pen has made by hand on a lathe in the Trobee Pen Studio (by Mike Trobee). It was hand, cut, shaped, sanded, polished, finished, sanded with micro-mesh, liquid polished, waxed and buffed (to a glass like shine). 

The rollerball in the tip of the pen is German made tipped with a ceramic rollerball. Refills are available through me or can be found at better office supply stores. 

I chose rhodium for the metal components because it just adds to the value of this rollerball pen. Rhodium is extremely durable and looks classy. The accents are black titanium. Rhodium and titanium are metals that are extremely durable (they are expensive..but worth it!). This will be a pen that can be passed down for many generations

THE PEN PARTS
There are countless varieties of pen parts available to pen makers. Some metal parts for pens start as low as a few dollars. On the other end of the spectrum are the parts for this pen. The parts are one of the high grade parts available. The metal is rhodium plated. Rhodium is a silver-white metallic element, is highly resistant to corrosion, and is extremely reflective. It is used as a finish for fine jewelry, the best mirrors, and even search lights. Rhodium currently is about $1300.00/oz.. It is expensive but extremely durable. The accents on the pen's cap and the end of the pen are hand cast in black titanium. A few of the pictures of the pen I took show the detail. It is very striking. These components come from a set of parts called a jr. emperor pen. The jr. emperor pen parts are among the best you can buy...anywhere on earth.

THE END RESULT
What you see in the photos is a fine rollerball pen with the best of everything. It is rhodium plated with hand cast black titanium accents. The pen body (the rattlesnake skin part) was hand shaped by me on my lathe. The pen was hand polished above and beyond the norm. Where many pen makers stop...I continue. I used a special diamond polish ( from De Beers Diamonds) to achieve a perfect glass like shine.
